ADULT CHRISTIAN FORMATION ON SUNDAY MORNING
Starting in July, we will begin a new Environmental Series in the Sunday morning Christian Formation classes. The ever increasing gas prices have prompted discussions on gas and oil that have
led to this series, where we’ll be exploring several topics that include:
1. Fossils Fuels: What is fossil fuel? Where do you find them? How
do we use them?
2. Alternatives: What can we do? Reduce/Reuse/Recycle/Throw Away?
3. Global Warming: What is Global Warming? Fact of Fiction? Can we
make a difference?
4. Hybrid Cars: What are they? How do they work?
Throughout this exciting series, we will explore these questions and what we, as stewards of the land God has given
us, are called to do. Can we really make a difference? Come join on Sunday mornings
at 9:00 am, July 6-27th, in Christian Formation. See you there!
ADULT
EDUCATION: MIDWEEK
There will be a new four-week study beginning, Tuesday, July
8. We will watch and discuss a series of lectures on DVD by the noted Jesus scholar, John Dominic Crossan. The series is titled
"Paul: an Appealing or Appalling Apostle." Crossan addresses challenges to understanding Paul, three "different Pauls," Paul’s
character and theology, and gender balance and imbalance in the New Testament.
All are invited and encouraged to attend. The sessions begin at 6:30 p.m.
with a brief prayer time and end at 7:30 p.m.
