With prayers of thanksgiving, we welcomed
Allison Elizabeth Bramblett into the world on April 13, 2010. What a blessing she is to parents, Wanda and Jeremy.
Congratulations!
Just two days prior to Allison's birth, St. Francis celebrated
her pending arrival with a shower for Wanda and Jeremy at All Saints House. Thank you to Kathy Landstreet, Stacy Hall
and all the women of St. Francis for such a glorious celebration . . .
Our car runneth over! The Walk in Love Shoe Drive
was a great success this Lenten Season. The many shoes & socks collected by St. Francis were blessed on Maundy Thursday &
presented to Br. Ron Fender at the service on April 1, 2010.

St. Francis
Rabbitat . . .As the kids from Saint Francis were finishing the Rabbitat on Sunday March 13th, a wild rabbit came across
the field and headed up to the woods. It was confirmation, indeed, that our labor
would not be in vain. All of God's creatures need the food, water and shelter. We are blessed with property that provides all of these things.
Adults worked hard the
Saturday before trimming branches and cleaning up planting areas. They piled
the brush beside the area being prepared for our Saint Francis Rabbitat. Kids
worked hard the next weekend stripping the larger branches of limbs and piling them on the Rabbitat's foundation.Locating the Rabbitat in the corner of the open field gives our furry friends plenty of grass to nibble,
a safe place to retreat to and water nearby.
Watch for upcoming events! There are plans for other ways to encourage wildlife as we carefully pick plants that
attract different birds and insects, put up bird feeders and houses and construct a Toad Abode!
RU55 visits the Civil War Dinner Theater
at Buttonwillow Church in Whitwell

We had a very interesting evening-- ate some delicious food prepared from recipes from Jefferson
Davis' white house, learned a lot Civil War history we didn't know, clapped along with Dixie, enjoyed laughter and good fellowship,
and came away with a renewed respect for the sacrifices of our forefathers (and foremothers!) on both sides of the conflict.
Thanks to Gail Grande for organizing the event!

welcomed The Rev. Lou Parsons as our new Rector in December 2009 at a special service and reception.

BBQ Fellowship Huge Success
Saturday
Ed McCoy put together his crew consisting of Bill Allen and Mike Bowland and smoked the best barbeque pork and chicken you’ll
have anywhere around. Ed’s skills came from his parents who owned a BBQ
restaurant in Selma, Alabama.
I’m
sure they’re proud he’s carrying on the tradition here at St. Francis. A
record group of spectators and well wishers attended the all day Saturday event and the reward for being there was the famous
McCoy fish fry. John Rouser thought it was chicken, but don’t tell him.
The fellowship lasted until….. Ed’s pork and chicken pullers got
started Sunday morning at 9:30 after attending the 8 am service. Stacy and her crew got everything organized
at All Saints Cabin and a great meal was had by all. Thanks go out to everyone
who worked to make this annual event possible including all those who brought side dishes.
